Amanda Aziz

Amanda works in all areas of immigration and citizenship law.

Prior to joining Maynard Kischer Stojicevic as an Associate, Amanda articled with the firm. She also spent time working on immigration and equality issues at West Coast LEAF, and on labour and human rights issues at a large public sector union based in Vancouver. Amanda also has experience working in commercial and corporate law in Bangkok, Thailand.

Amanda graduated from the University of Victoria law school in 2014, where she was actively involved with the Faculty and community. While at UVIC, Amanda received numerous awards, including the William R McIntyre Medal for a commitment to community service, student leadership and academic excellence, and the Bonnie Bryan Memorial Scholarship for a commitment to social justice issues and furthering the advancement of women in the legal profession.

Amanda is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers. Prior to attending law school, Amanda completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Manitoba, where she was actively involved in advocacy in the post-secondary education and non-profit sectors, as well as in refugee and migrant communities. She speaks Hungarian.
