DUI and criminal inadmissibility to Canada

Rudolf Kischer spoke at a seminar hosted by Cascadia Cross — Border Law on the issue of DUI’s criminal inadmissibility for American citizens wanting to visit Canada. The event was held at the Silver Reef Hotel in Ferndale Washington on April 4, 2014.

In attendance were approximately 70 lawyers mostly practicing in the immigration and criminal bars.  The course was valid for continuing legal education credits. A portion of all proceeds was donated to the Washington Defender Association.

Mr. Kischer spoke on the effect that a driving while impaired conviction could have on American citizen seeking to enter Canada. He also reviewed possible remedies such as applications for deemed rehabilitation, rehabilitation and temporary residence permits.
