Tess Acton

Tess is a Lawyer with Maynard Kischer Stojicevic.

Before joining Maynard Kischer Stojicevic, Tess worked in commercial and civil litigation in Vancouver and Toronto. She appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia, at multi-party mediations, and before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Tess completed her Master in Laws (LL.M.) at the University of Victoria in 2015, where her research focused on immigration and refugee law issues. She graduated with honours from the University of Ottawa law school in 2012. During law school, Tess received several awards, including the John E. Read Prize for highest standing in public international law, as well as the McCarthy Tétrault Award and Bertha Wilson Scholarship for community leadership.

Tess is the Vice Chair of the Excellence in Literacy Foundation and Generation Live Green, charities that provide transformational programming to youth, and is a former Board Member of the Victoria Coalition for Survivors of Torture. Tess is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers.

Outside of the office, Tess can most likely be found running, baking, or planning the next road trip in her 1985 Westfalia. She can assist clients in French.
