The Ministry’s website has a list of the example of fields where the Program will not support nominations. The vast majority of this is in fields where labour market information shows that there is a very good supply of workers and no indication of skilled shortage.

Many of the others are in occupations in which post-secondary education or training is less than as normally required for technical or trade qualifications since in the Province’s opinion, these needs can be readily met by expanding training of the local work force. Included in this are semi-skilled manufacturing and fabricating jobs, unskilled labour in construction, agriculture and resource industries, hospitality industry and other service jobs, as well as administration and clerical occupations.
